Photonics Day 2014

Celebrating the multidisciplinary nature of photonics research

Photonics Day is a regular annual event in the University calendar in which the very latest photonics research is reviewed through a number of oral and poster presentations. This year, the event was re-launched by the Zepler Institute as a celebration of the truly multidisciplinary nature of photonics research and featured presentations from across the Zepler Institute’s constituent research groups and collaborators.

Student and post-doc poster presentations

There were opportunities for students to showcase their work by giving short oral and poster presentations and cash prizes on offer for the best entries. Post-docs were also invited to present a poster.

The International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies

EPS President, John Dudley opened the day with an invited talk in his role as Champion of the International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies (IYL 2015). For more information on the IYL 2015, please visit the IYL 2015 website.
